Skymark Airlines is planning to terminate its Tokyo Narita operations as part of cost-cutting measures. Japanese media quotes unnamed industry sources as saying the withdrawal could be as early as late October, with all Tokyo-bound traffic to be subsequently routed via its primary Tokyo Haneda hub.The LCC had planned to launch its first international longhaul flights to New York JFK from Narita later this year using its first of six A380-800s that were on order from Airbus.Airbus’s cancellation of the A380 order came with a JPY70billion ($682 million) compensation demand by Airbus, compounding the airline’s first-quarter net loss of JPY5.8billion
