All Nippon Airways, Orix, HIS, Daiwa Securities, Shinsei Bank, Sojitz and Nihon Kotsu are all reported to have expressed interest in investing in bankrupt Skymark Airlines. Skymark has estimated liabilities of JPY71.1 billion (US$606.1 million), which does not include any fallout from its cancelled A380 order. Integral Corp has already committed JPY9 billion (US$58.91 million). GCA Savvian is advising the carrier. Once short listed the investors will be required to devise a rescue plan ahead of its submission to the Tokyo District Court and Skymark’s creditors for approval by May 29.
