SERVICE AS USUAL FOR AER LINGUS DESPITE STRIKE ACTION

Aer Lingus has leased extra aircraft in a bid to operate a full schedule despite the cabin crew dispute over new rosters. The Irish airline gave 140 of its cabin crew a final chance to operate the new rosters in letters sent out on Friday, which their union Impact described as threatening. It says it wants the Data Protection Commission to investigate the airline, as they say that staff members personal details were given to an external courier company to deliver the letters.

Meanwhile, Irish media has reported that Aer Lingus is under investigation by the FAA and the Irish Aviation Authority for operating an aircraft that was allegedly leaking vapours into the cabin due to a problem with its reverse thrusters and bleed air valves.
