Asiana Airlines has confirmed plans to launch its second low-cost carrier, Seoul Air, later this year. Based at Incheon International Airport, Seoul Air will focus on routes into Japan and other regional international destinations. Asiana’s other LCC Air Busan currently operates out of Gimhae International Airport. Seoul Air CEO Ryu Kwang-hee said that the airline will concentrate initially on routes that Asiana already operates but has been difficult to make viable.
