SAS Group posts six month interim report

SAS Group figures

SAS Group’s May 2013 traffic figures showed group capacity (ASK) was up by 4.7% and the Group’s traffic (RPK) increased by 1.5%. Load factor decreased by 2.3 points to 73.0%. SAS Group carried 2.6 million passengers in May, down 2.9% with passenger numbers affected negatively by the cabin crew strike at Widerøe in May. Currency adjusted yield in April 2013 was up 10.3% year on year and RASK was up 0.6%. In May 2013 the change in yield and RASK vs. last year is expected to be negative. Despite that yield has been stable in recent months, over capacity on certain routes does add uncertainty though. The capacity increase for the fiscal year 2012/13 is expected to be approximately 5-6%.
