Ryanair pilot one day strike planned for July 12

The one-day strike called by the Irish Airline Pilots Association (Ialpa) and the broader Fórsa union is likely to go ahead on Thursday July 12 as Ryanair stands by its rebuke of 94 of its Dublin-based pilots for threatening the action. The pilots are demonstrating over what they see as a failure by the airline to improve the working conditions that prompted last year’s industrial action. The airline expects disruption on Thursday but has not yet formally provided notice to passengers, which it has to do by tomorrow afternoon.

Meanwhile, Ryanair cabin crew based in Italy, Portugal, Spain and Belgium plan to strike in late July after a contract dispute. Cabin crew in Italy will go on strike for 24-hours on 25 July, while crew in Spain, Portugal and Belgium will strike for 48 hours on 25-26 July.
