RwandAir’s CEO, John Mirenge has indicated that the airline is in talks with potential strategic equity partners. The airline is in discussions with Ethiopian Airlines among others. Ethiopian already has successful equity partners in ASKY and Malawian Airlines, while its board is chaired by Girma Wake, who was appointed by the Rwandan government to provide strategic guidance vis-a-vis route and fleet expansion.
