Rodney James steps down as CEO of 1Time Airline and as an executive director of the company

Rodney James has resigned from his posts as CEO and executive director of 1Time Airline, Michael Kaminski, executive director, also resigned from the company’s board. Both resignations took effect on Monday, the airline said in a statement. “Mr Kaminski will be serving his notice period up until the end of May, during which time the board will undertake the process to find a suitable replacement for him,” it said.
Blacky Komani, CEO of 1Time Holdings , the operator of the low-cost carrier, has been appointed to take over from Mr James with immediate effect. Mr Komani had taken over the 1Time Holdings position after the resignation of Glenn Orsmond in September last year. Last month, 1Time said it was looking at the number of flights it offered between Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, with a view to cutting flights that were not making any money. Mr Komani said at the time that the carrier, which reported a loss in the six month to September last year, planned to put the capacity into more profitable routes, adding that it had its sights set on intra-regional travel.
