Republic Airlines and Shuttle America reported 2014 net income of $64.3m, more than double 2013’s $26.7m. Republic’s 2014 revenue was up 2.1% year on year to $1.38bn, but expenses increased 3% to $1.19bn, producing an operating profit of $185.5m, down 2.9% from the $191m operating profit in 2013. Republic’s 2014 traffic increased 7.2% to 2.88 billion RPMs on a 6.9% rise in capacity to 3.75 billion ASMs, this gave a load factor of 76.8%, up 0.2 points showing very good fleet management considering the overhaul that has taken place at the airline.
