QANTAS SERVICES DELAYED DUE TO HIGH WINDS

Qantas services were delayed on Wednesday morning after Air Services Australia’s National Operation Centre in Canberra advised all airlines that Sydney Airport operations would be reduced to one runway all day today due to “strong winds”.

Qantas was forced to delay and cancel a number of flights this morning and contacted customers to advise them of changes to their flights. Later this morning, the forecast changes and airlines were able to continue using parallel runways at Sydney airport. By then, however, Qantas had already changed its schedules and so was unable to reinstate all flights and avoid all of the delays.
