Local media reports that Qantas has added 21-more aircraft to its original 2011 order of 78 A320neo, bringing the total to 99 aircraft. The airline has also deferred other orders until between 2016 and 2022. The order deferrals are part of the Qantas Group’s $2bn restructuring and reduction in capital spending announced in January. Although the aircraft are provisionally intended for low-cost subsidiary Jetstar, Qantas has not ruled out bringing the A320neo into its domestic fleet, which is currently built around the B737-800. The order follows Air New Zealand’s recent order for up to ten A320neo and three A321neo aircraft
