Philippine Airlines has cancelled all its international and domestic flights after a wild-cat strike by its ground crew in protest at plans to outsource their 2,600 jobs next week. Caught by surprise by the action, Philippine Airlines was forced to cancel 50 international flights and 35 domestic services. “Our workers walked out of their jobs and these include the airport services staff in charge of checking in and boarding passengers, as well as those in the catering services,” PAL spokeswoman Cielo Villaluna told AFP. “We are now taking steps to find a solution to ensure that normal operations are restored.”
