The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has announced that its two-day investigative hearing into the Jan. 7 battery fire aboard a Boeing 787 at Boston’s Logan International will be held April 23-24 in Washington, D.C. The hearing will focus on issues relating to the design, testing and certification of the battery system. FAA issued an emergency airworthiness directive in January that required US operators of 787 aircraft to cease operations temporarily.
