More Qantas flights grounded due to industrial action

Eight flights will be affected today as Qantas prepares for a one-hour strike by aircraft maintenance engineers in Melbourne. The airline will close its heavy maintenance facilities in Brisbane and Melbourne tomorrow, cancel two flights and delay another six flights by up to an hour. The disruptions will affect a total of 1300 customers, Qantas group executive Olivia Wirth said The restrictions affect the airline’s ability to keep up required maintenance on aircraft over the coming weeks.
