Meridiana-Qatar Airways deal negotiations proceeding

Italian media are reporting that a planned partnership between Meridiana and Qatar Airways will mean up to 900 job losses. It has been reported that Qatar Airways is currently in negotiations to take up to a 49% stake in the Italian carrier – the jobs cuts will form part of any deal, which is expected to be announced during the first half of this year.
