Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has stated that it is on course to turn a profit by the end of the year and is arresting its yearly losses. Dean Dacko, senior vice-president, head of marketing and products commercial, at the airline has told the Business Times: “MAS will be profitable by end-2014, that is our target. It is not debatable. It is and it will be.” The airline has renewed its fleet, aiding fuel efficiency, and has made full utilisation of its aircraft, adding frequencies and helping passenger capacity rise to 16 million last year from 12 million in 2012.
