Speaking to the South China Morning Post, chief executive of Malaysia Airlines, Peter Bellew, has stated that the carrier intends to add nine new routes to mainland China this year, including to Chengdu, Chongqing, Fuzhou, Haikou and Nanjing. The carrier will also boost existing flights to Shanghai and Hong Kong.
