Maintenance issues for Air Malta

Air Malta has confirmed that the recent cancellations of flight in three separate incidents concern three separate aircraft rather than being a problem with one single airplane as had been feared.

“In the three cases, three separate airplanes registered technical faults which could not let the planes take off. Technicians had to be called and consequently some flights were delayed for safety reasons,” a spokesperson said.

In March, an Air Malta A320 was forced to return back to Malta twice after experiencing a technical fault in the navigation system, while the most recent case concerned an A319 last week that experienced technical faults in the parking brake.
