LOT Polish Airlines is expecting its application for a state bailout to be approved by the EU’s competition commission. Approval will mean the airline will not have to return PLN400 million (100 million euros) it received in 2012 as part of government aid that is keeping the airline afloat while it undergoes substantial restructuring. LOT expects to return to profit during 2014 for the first time in years.
