Indian ministers have stated to local media that although Kingfisher Airlines theoretically has two years to restart operations, unless it does so in the next month or two, it will be unlikely. Kingfisher’s international flying rights and airport slots will be given to other Indian carriers in the coming summer schedule if Kingfisher remains grounded. The airline’s licence expired in the New Year and the carrier submitted an ‘unsatisfactory’ revival plan according to the Director general of civil aviation Arun Mishra.
