Korean budget airline Jin Air has been granted an extension of its temporary permit to fly the Incheon-Kalibo route until next month. Airphil Express’ petition to fly the same route was denied however as the Civil Aviation Board ruled that because the Philippines has been downgraded to category 2 safety status by the US FAA. Airphil has complained and raised the issue of “reciprocity” between the Philippines and South Korean, which Airphili claims Philippine carriers are not being given the same access as other carriers. The CAB has stated it will address Airphil’s complaint and come out with a decision
