Engineers at Auckland’s domestic terminal have been inspecting a Jetstar A320 aircraft through the night after a burning smell was detected. The aircraft had just arrived from Christchurch and was in the final stages of disembarkation parked on the apron of the runway, when the burning smell was detected. The 4.6 tonnes of fuel on board concerned officials but no source of the smell could be found using a thermal imaging camera. The plane was handed over to Jetstar engineers late last night for inspection.
