January traffic for Irish airline Aer Lingus has fallen by 17% on last year. The number of booked passengers decreased from 665,000 in January 2010 to 552,000, but flight cancellations meant that the actual number of customers carried was 4% lower than this figure. Load factors were fell by 3.6 percentage points to 63.8%, while capacity in its short-haul and long-haul flights decreased by 15.2% and 14.2% respectively.
