IndiGo has increased charges for passengers opting for preferential seating and extra baggage. The airline will now charge Rs.600 per passenger to sit in rows one, two, 12 and 13 on domestic flights from Rs.500, while charges for baggage above the 15kg allowed will rise from Rs.500 to Rs. 750 for every extra 5kg. The charges came into effect on April 4. Rival SpiceJet may follow suit to capitalise on the busy summer season.
