Even though domestic Indian airlines have complied with Directorate General of Civil Aviation’s (DGCA) demands to publish fare prices on their website, the directorate has said that the details are too “complicated” and “technical” for an average passenger to understand. Sources reported in local media said: “There are many discrepancies which need to cleared. We are not exactly sure whether the exorbitant fares they had been charging have actually been corrected. The abbreviations that have been used to indicate advance bookings and destinations are beyond comprehension.” Airlines have been told to make the fares information more passenger friendly.
