China’s HNA Group has announced plans to add another airline startup to its portfolio, with the launch of Guilin Airlines, based in Guilin, southern China. Guilin Airlines will be a joint venture formed by three locally-based state-run companies, and Guilin Airlines Travel Group, formed by HNA. The airline will be based at Guilin’s Liangjiang International Airport, in the southern region of Guangxi. HNA will initially launch Guilin Airlines with three aircraft, and expects to increase its fleet to 30 aircraft over the next three years.
