Hawaiian Airlines profits suffer

Hawaiian Airlines latest results show the impact of Hurricanes Iselle and Julio from early August, which caused $5 million loss in passenger cancellations. President and CEO Mark Dunkerley has warned that the most recent Hurricane Ana may have similar results.

During the third quarter, Hawaiian Airlines reported a profit of $35.6 million compared to a profit of $40.6 million in the third quarter of 2013. The airline reported $567 million in passenger revenue during the period, which is a 4.4% increase over the same quarter last year. For the nine months ending September 30, the company received $1.5 billion in passenger revenue, a 5.3% rise from the same time period a year ago.
