Hawaiian Airlines May traffic and guidance

Hawaiian Airlines flew 966,179 passengers during May 2017, an increase of 5.1% compared to the year-ago period. Its load factor for the month rose by 2.4 percentage points to 86.7%. For the 12 months to the end of May 2017, Hawaiian flew 4,574,329 passengers, an increase of 3.2% over last year, while load factor rose by 2.7 percentage points to 84.8%.

Hawaiian also released its earnings guidance for the second quarter of 2017, with the airline now forecasting unit revenue to increase 7.5% to 10.5%, up from 5.5% to 8.5% previously due to both better demand and yield performance. Hawaiian also updated its jet fuel expectation and now forecasts jet fuel to be $1.60 to $1.70 / gallon, down from prior guidance of $1.65 to $1.75 / gallon.
