The Gulf Air Trade Union (GATU) is threatening to strike unless Gulf Air halts a major restructuring plan that includes 1,800 job losses. The airline has cut 15% of its workforce at the end of February as a result of its voluntary redundancy scheme. The union has rejected the dismissals and has drafted a letter to be sent to the Labour Minister and the parliament chairman setting out different scenarios. The union stated that a strike is on the table but no decision has been made.
