FUEL COSTS FORCE NIGERIAN AIRLINES TO RAISE FARES

Domestic airlines in Nigeria are adjusting their fares to take into account higher fuel costs. From today domestic fares will rise from 18,000 Naira (US$120) to 20,000 Naira (US$133).

Mohammed Tukur, assistant secretary general of the Airline Operators of Nigeria said that the ‘adjustment’ was due to the rising price of jet A1, spare parts and other sundry aviation charges, which has hit the airlines sector hard.
