Flybe Finland becomes Nordic Regional Airlines

Flybe Finland is to be rebranded as Nordic Regional Airlines next month after its change of ownership. Flybe Nordic was originally set up in 2011 as a joint venture between Flybe UK and Finnair, but after poor performance, Flybe sold its 60% stake to Finnair at the end of March. The proposed name change will need to be approved by the Finnish Patent and Registration Office, which is expected to be granted in May.

Flybe Finland CEO Maunu Visuri said: “We reviewed tens of options for the new name. We wanted to have an international name that describes our core business which is regional flying. We felt that Nordic Regional Airlines communicates especially Nordic quality and know-how. Also the name is clear and easy to understand.”
