Flights cancelled across the US

Cold weather has forced thousands of flights to be cancelled across the US with as many as 2,197 flights cancelled nationwide by Sunday afternoon, according to Flightaware.com.

Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport has been badly affected with over 400 departures cancelled on Sunday, while many travellers were stranded at the airport.

American Airlines cancelled 1,100 flights on Sunday and expects 550 cancellations today, mainly from Dallas Fort Worth.
