Fitch Ratings expects China’s airline sector to enjoy revenue passenger kilometre (RPK) growth in the high-single-digit- to low-teen range over the next five to ten years, fuelled by continued deregulation and commercialisation, increasing urbanisation and air-transport infrastructure expansion. Infrastructure build lagging consumer demand is likely to hamper growth on domestic routes in the near- to medium-term, but this should be partially offset by stronger growth on international routes.
