Finnair union employees are preparing to work out tomorrow at 3pm for a 24 hour strike in protest over contracts. Some 400 catering employees went on strike at midday on Tuesday forcing the airline to hand out bagged lunches to travellers at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. The strike tomorrow arranged by the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) and the Finnish Cabin Crew Union (SLSY) has the potential to affect all airline and airport operations in the country. Ground service staff including baggage handlers, ticket salespeople, check-in staff and mechanics belong to the IAU union and will strike affecting all airports and airlines.
