In the next 12 months Emirates is tipped to overtake Delta Air Lines as the world’s second largest airline. If it continues to expand at the same rate as 2012 at around 18%, it could overtake United – the world’s largest airline. Last week Emirates began operating from a new $3bn concourse at Dubai airport, dedicated to its fleet of A380s.
