EASYJET ADDS ANOTHER A320 TO EDINBURGH AIRPORT

Low cost airline Easyjet is introducing a fifth A320 aircraft at Edinburgh Airport. The carrier also plans to replace one of its four existing aircraft with an 180-seat A320 – the largest in its fleet. The move will add 300,000 seats capacity to the airport and create 60 new jobs.

With this move and the recent expansion of its Gatwick to Aberdeen route, EasyJet’s capacity to and from Scotland will increase by 9% this year.

Chief executive Carolyn McCall says: “Easyjet is delighted to announce these exciting expansion plans. Easyjet is committed to Scotland and this additional capacity will benefit the business community and leisure travellers as well as bringing even more visitors to Scotland.”
