Delta Air Lines is removing seats from 179 of its A320-family aircraft to provide more space in the galley areas for flight attendants. This is an unusual move considering many airlines have been adding seats, and those that remove seats usually do so to provide more room for passengers. Three rear seats will be taken out of 69 existing A320s and from 45 A321s currently on order. Two seats will also be removed from 65 of its MD-90s that do not currently have rear galleys, to provide more storage space.
