DECCAN 360 GROUNDED

Capt Gopinath’s cargo airline Deccan 360, also known as Deccan Cargo & Express Logistics, has been grounded as the aircraft have been reposed by leasing company Veling due to non-payment of dues.

Deccan 360 operated eight leased aircraft – three Airbus 310s and five ATRs.

Veling repossessed the three Airbus 310s, which were specially converted into cargo-carrying vehicles, last week.

Gopinath claimed the airline had given the aircraft back, denying they had been repossessed, because they needed smaller planes. “So, we returned them, and purchased the ATRs,” he said to a UK newspaper.

However, Veling confirmed they had taken the aircraft back due to non-payment of dues.
