Marc Rochet, CEO of Air Caraïbes, has confirmed its proposed purchase of Corsair International from TUI and has stated that the two airlines will not merge but Corsair will remain a distinct, separate entity within Groupe Dubreuil due to complex French regulatory hurdles. Once the deal approved by TUI, French regulators, and Corsair unions, the acquisition will create France’s largest privately-owned airline group. Prior to any sale, TUI will recapitalize Corsair since it has lost $125 million every year since 2008. Corsair will retain its network and staff under the terms of the deal.
