Corsair to remain separate entity

Marc Rochet, CEO of Air Caraïbes, has confirmed its proposed purchase of Corsair International from TUI and has stated that the two airlines will not merge but Corsair will remain a distinct, separate entity within Groupe Dubreuil due to complex French regulatory hurdles. Once the deal approved by TUI, French regulators, and Corsair unions, the acquisition will create France’s largest privately-owned airline group.

Prior to any sale, TUI will recapitalize Corsair since it has lost $125 million every year since 2008. Corsair will retain its network and staff under the terms of the deal.
Air Caraïbes has six A350-900s on order for delivery next year through to 2023, and the airline has recently firmed up options for two more and indicated a further three will be leased from lessors. These aircraft will likely be deployed on Corsair routes as well as Air Caraïbes.
