City Airport goes passed the 3m mark

London City Airport (LCY) has smashed through the 3m passenger mark in 2011 in the process growing its passenger traffic by 7.6% year on year. Interestingly December 2011 traffic was up a huge 33% on 2010. The airport is in a very good position for the Olympics in 2012 being only a few miles from the Olympic village and should benefit hugely from corporate arrivals and increased passenger numbers and flights. Post 2012 LCY may need to invest in further terminal expansion as people get used to the convenient location at the heart of London.
