China Airlines is to relaunch its non-stop Taipei Taoyuan to New York JFK services on October 2nd using a B747-400. While the outbound flight from Taiwan will operate direct, the inbound will operate via a tech-stop in Anchorage Ted Stevens airport in Alaska. The new non-stop routing replaces its current service between the two airports via Osaka Kansai. Beginning in February 2015, the three-times-weekly service will switch to using one of the Taiwanese carrier’s soon-to-be-delivered B777-300ERs, which will then operate non-stop in both directions.
