CATHAY PACIFIC DECEMBER REVENUE AHEAD OF TARGET

Cathay Pacific Airways’ December revenue is more than 20% ahead of target, according to an internal document seen by Dow Jones Newswires Chief executive Tony Tyler has said the airline ended 2010 with solid growth from a year earlier without providing further details.

For the week ended January 1, Cathay recorded the highest yields on routes to Japan since 2008, supported by strong economy-class revenue, said Tyler.

Passenger demand for long-haul routes to the US was also strong during the week ended January 1, with load factors at 99%. Cathay’s load factor for its cargo operations was more than 75% in 2010.
