Cambodia Bayon Airlines has set a tentative December launch date in anticipation of its planned certification by the Cambodia State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA). The airline is also set to invest $100million in the purchase of a fleet of Xian MA-60s to operate its planned domestic network. Vice president Taing Chun Leang said: “We plan to start flights this December. This is the first company in Cambodia that will own its own aircraft, rather than leasing.” The start-up is also considering plans to acquire a fleet of A320-200s for services to China.
