BRISBANE TO ABU DHABI SERVICE UNDER REVIEW

Virgin Australia and Etihad Airways are reviewing their proposed thrice-weekly service from Brisbane to Abu Dhabi from February 2012. Etihad chief commercial officer Peter Baumgartner said it was not the wrong time to be adding capacity into the Australian market, but that 12 months was a long time period in which many factors could change. Etihad and Virgin announced the joint venture in August last year, which was due to include V Australia flying three times a week between Sydney and Abu Dhabi from February 2011 and three times a week between Brisbane and Abu Dhabi from February 2012.
