Official US figures from the Bureau of Transportation states that airlines earned $1.6 billion in the first two quarters for 2010 in baggage fees. Delta Air Lines earned the most of this lucrative revenue source, with $473 million in the period. American Airlines and US Airways were the second highest beneficiaries of baggage fee revenue.
