British Airways has confirmed it will buy Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine for the 12 A380s it has on order. The announcement has been shot in the arm for Rolls-Royce, with shares in the UK engine maker’s climbing 1.8% on the news. Rolls-Royce stock has suffered since a Trent 900 engine on a Qantas A380 exploded in mid-air in November and the airline’s legal claim for compensation.
