BA CHIEF SHRUGS OFF BUSINESS MARKET THREAT FROM EASYJET

Willie Walsh, chief executive of British Airways, says the airline will not be threatened by easyJet’s focus on attracting business travellers.

Walsh said that the low cost carrier should focus more on improving its poor punctuality record than looking to competing with full-service airlines for business passengers.

BA chief cited official June figures where easyJet was on time just 48% of the time at Gatwick Airport, which will be hard for it to overcome, he said.
