BA BACK IN LYBIA – but why?

Nearly a year after the suspension of services BA says it will begin flights to Tripoli once again. BA has spent the last few months assessing the security risks of returning to the country.
The UK Foreign Office still advises against all but essential travel to Tripoli and against all travel to the rest of Libya. So how is BA going to fill its aircraft? Before last February, BA relied on bookings from Exodus, Abercrombie and Kent and Responsible Travel. But all of these travel firms can not send travellers while there is a UK foreign office warning in place…….
BA will fly from Heathrow to Tripoli three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursday and Sundays. Several other European airlines, including Alitalia, have already resumed flights to the city. Air France will restart its services on March 27. Watch the number on these routes to see if airlines have acted too quickly.
