Azul reconsiders IPO in early 2015

Azul Brazilian Airlines has announced that it is considering filing again for an initial public offering (IPO) as early as the first quarter of 2015, after it withdrew its IPO in August 2013 citing adverse market conditions.

The airline stated it is unlikely to file for an IPO this year due to the elections in Brazil in October.

Azul CEO David Neeleman said: “There’s a window that starts in December. It will most likely be sometime in the first quarter of next year.”

Neeleman emphasised that the airline does not “need” to go public, but added: “Our shareholders like the ability to have liquidity on their investment.”
