AUTHORITIES TO INVESTIGATE MUMBAI AIRPORT INCIDENT

The director general of Civil Aviation in India has ordered an inquiry into an incident at Mumbai airport when a Jet Airways aircraft hit a stationary Kingfisher airlines plane on Saturday. The pilot of the Jet Airways flight from Mumbai to Muscat reported that while pushing back, the airplane’s wing tip brushed the tail fin of the adjacent parked aircraft of Kingfisher Airlines. The director general has ordered the suspension of one ground personnel and de-rostering of two others involved in the incident.

An official release issued in New Delhi said the incident has been classified as serious incident.
